Eating To Gain Muscle Explained


Lifting to gain muscle is only part of the equation. Eating to gain muscle and resting make up the whole formula. Eating seems to be the biggest mystery to most people as they just do not know what they are supposed to be eating, how much, and even when. I’ll clear this up for you right now.

How Much To Eat

It all begins with how much you eat. To grow bigger you need to eat bigger constantly. This means more calories or bigger portions if you don’t wish to count calories.

What To Eat

What makes up the calories is very important also. Most important of all is the protein of which you need to eat around 1 g per pound of body weight or even more.

The food you eat should always be the best foods which means no ready meals or fast food junk.

The best foods to gain muscle on are things like beef, eggs, fish, chicken, pasta, rice, oats, bread, milk and potatoes.

Don’t avoid eating fats, you need them to build muscle and they are good for testosterone.

When To Eat

You need to eat every three hours, no excuses are no exceptions. Most important of all is breakfast, your after training meal, and before training meal as this is when your body needs nutrients most.

What you eat and when is up to you but you must always include protein in these meals.
