Some people don’t sleep very much out of choice because they feel they are too busy and it is a waste of time, and others don’t sleep very much because they have a hard time sleeping, period.
Getting your sleep right is one of the most important things you can do for your bodybuilding efforts, because it is the time when most of your muscle is built.
How many hours sleep should you get? That depends on you. And, you can’t really know what is the best amount of sleep to build muscle until you’ve tried sleeping different times.
You certainly should not get any less than six hours sleep, and probably no more than nine.
Do not underestimate what getting enough hours of good-quality sleep can do for your muscle gains. Many times people do not know why they are not gaining much muscle because their training is good and their diet it is good, but their sleep is terrible. It’s the hidden killer to their muscle gains!
If you really want to make the best gains you possibly can, you need to start sleeping four more hours. There is no excuse for sleeping poorly, and even if you believe you have a sleeping problem then you should go and see your doctor who should be able to help you.
It will be the best thing you can do for your muscle gains and your life in general.
