Building muscle can be a very difficult thing at times, and, it’s no surprise that those who have built a respectable size quake in fear of taking even a little time off in case they lose all of their hard won muscle. But, if they knew of muscle memory… maybe they would think differently.
Muscle memory is a peculiar thing and nobody knows why it works, only that it does.
At best, muscle memory can be described as the peculiar phenomenon of being able to rebuild muscle one had before but lost, far quicker than building muscle for the first time.
It’s almost like the muscles have fundamentally changed on some level, despite the fact they have shrunken down to a size, the muscles ‘remember’ that they had greater size before, and respond more rapidly to the training.
This is a great thing for bodybuilders. If you are injured or just want time off, you don’t have to worry about continuing training because the muscle you lose can be gotten back far more quickly than it took to get in the first place.
If you need a break from bodybuilding, don’t fret about losing muscle – muscle memory is your friend.
