Privacy

BuildMuscleMass.org takes the issue of visitor privacy very seriously. We therefore feel it important to be upfront with you about what kind of information your web browser and visitation provides us with, and how we use this information.

It’s important to know that your identity, including your name, address, or any such private personal details are in no way automatically transmitted to the BuildMuscleMass website upon visitation. You do, in effect, remain completely anonymous.

Information which we do automatically collect and log on our web server includes your IP address, timestamps, browser type, the country of origin of your IP address and your Internet Service Provider.

Cookies and Beacons

BuildMuscleMass.org operates using cookies which store information on your computer regarding personal preferences, log-in-status, or returning visitor status in relation to our website. Such cookies provide interaction with our website thorough time as you re-visit.

On BuildMuscleMass.org we run third party advertisements which generate revenues to help pay for hosting costs and such like. Some of the advertising companies we display ads through (Google AdSense, for instance) may also use cookies and beacons which will give those companies access to your IP address, country, Internet Service Provider, timestamps, browser type and such data. Such cookie interactions are generally used to provide greater advertisement relevancy, for instance: ads based upon your country of origin, or even ads based upon other websites you have visited in the past which also ran Google AdSense ads.

DoubleClick DART Cookies

Sometimes we may also use DART cookies for displaying advertisements through Google’s DoubleClick, which in turn places a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the internet and visit a website using DoubeClick advertising (inc. some Google AdSense ads). This cookie is used to tailor advertisements to you relevant to your perceived interests based upon this and the topics of other DoubleClick running websites you have visited. Such technologies are known as “interest based targeting.”

To clarify this, an example would be you having visited a website in the past about Italian cooking, perhaps, which also is using DoubleClick technology to serve ads. Down the line you may find yourself on our website, which also runs DoubleClick technology. Once on our website then, you may find ads being displayed about Italian cooking despite our site being about bodybuilding – simply because the advertising company Google AdSense/DoubleClick served you a cookie somewhere along the line and ‘recalled’ the cookie, in effect remembering you were once on a website about Italian cooking.

Google/DoubleClick/DART does not use any personal identifiable information, such as name, address, telephone number, age, e-mail address or any such information whatsoever; this information is simply not obtainable automatically by cookies simply through visiting our website.

However, should you wish Google/DoubleClick/DART to not obtain even such information as your IP address, past websites you have visited, and/or times you have visited, or any other such information, you are free to opt-out by going here.

Another approach to take should you wish to keep such information from being tracked is to manually block the sending and receiving of cookies through your web browser. It is not recommended you block all websites and all cookies, as some websites require cookies to function. You can, however, choose to authorize cookie tracking only from websites you have chosen. This option will be somewhere within your web browsers options.

You should also be made aware of the fact that deleting (or clearing) cookies will not permanently bar you from accepting the same Google/DoubleClick/DART cookies again in the future – and the next time you visit a website using such technology, providing you have the settings to accept cooking tracking, another cookie will be added.
